RYA sail training with less strain

Our base in Swansea, Wales giving access to the Bristol Channel and quiet marinas and anchorages allows you to concentrate on learning sailing and navigation skills in relative peace. You will certainly learn your tides and appreciate the experience of sailing a fast boat in plenty of space and a very pretty environment at the end of your course.

RYA ImageRainbow Seeker in partnership with "Chepstow and District Yacht club" offers a full range of RYA training including `Start Yachting, Competent Crew, Dayskipper and Coastal Skipper` as internally assessed and certificated courses. Plus the RYA Yachtmaster practical course which is externally examined.

These will be run as standard three and five day modules straddling a weekend to reduce time off work but can also be structured according to your needs. Costs of practical courses £90 per person per day. Hence 2 day courses £180 per person and 5 day courses £450 per person. Intensive courses comprising 4 days Day skipper theory and 5 days practical £660 per person. Our service is offered direct and via local clubs and so we are continuously building up courses throughout the year.

Theory courses in Swansea and Cardiff.

International Certificate of Competence (ICC) can be done on Rainbow Seeker or on your own boat.

Flexible training to suit your needs

Flottila preparation, family and other groups are our speciality whether you want a day, weekend or longer to hone your skills and learn how to handle a bigger boat. Rainbow Seeker is stable, responsive and easy to handle making her ideal as a training vessel for all levels of competence from the beginner to the potential ocean racer.

A training programme can be specifically tailored to your requirements and to the level of competence of your crew. Our instructors teach shorebased and practical courses and can cover intensively the areas you need plus the opportunity to push the boundaries in terms of weather or passage making should you wish.

Comfort space and pace

Rainbow Seeker offers comfort and space above and below deck for those who prefer to learn with minimum hardship. Swansea and the Bristol Channel also offer shoreside comforts welcomed when the days sailing is complete. The vessel is also equipped with a spinnaker, large suite of sails, extra water tankage and flexible rig making her an excellent choice for extended passage making. Ideal if you want to push the boundaries and are considering the ARC or wanting Ocean Yachtmaster mileage and experience.
